ROLLA, Mo. – For the second time this season, Missouri S&T's
Jacob Luebbert (Warsaw, MO/Warsaw) has been selected as the Great Lakes Valley Conference's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week after setting a facility record in the weight throw over the weekend at the Principia Relays.
Luebbert had a mark of 20.41 meters, or 66-feet, 11½ inches, to win the competition at Principia. The top-ranked thrower in the event in the GLVC this season, Luebbert currently holds the third-best performance in NCAA Division II during the 2022-23 indoor season.
In addition to winning the weight throw, Luebbert also placed in a tie for fourth in the shot put as he had a mark of 47-5 in that event.
Luebbert earned his earlier weekly award from the GLVC after setting the school record in the weight throw at Pittsburg State in December.
Missouri S&T's track & field team will be in action Friday when it takes part in the Lewis Invitational in Romeoville, Ill.
