ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T's Connor Bichsel (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West), who was victorious in two races in the Miners' home swimming meet on Friday with Missouri-St. Louis and Rockhurst, has been named as the Athlete of the Week in men's swimming by the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Bichsel was victorious in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:52.74, then a short time later captured the win in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:53.63.  He owns the Miners' top times in both events this year with NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks in both.

It is the first weekly award for Bichsel, who was the Freshman of the Year in the GLVC last season.  He is the first Miner since Aaron Taske was selected on Jan. 2, 2020 as the Athlete of the Week by the conference office.
