WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Paced by a pair of second place finishes, Missouri S&T's women's track & field team resumed it schedule Friday at the Central Missouri Invitational by placing fourth as a team in the meet.
Annmarie Tyson (St. Louis, MO/St. Joseph's Academy) placed second in the high jump by going over the bar at 5-3¼, as did
Sydney Stephens (Plattsburg, MO/Plattsburg) in the shot put with a mark of 40-4¼. S&T also got a third place showing in the shot put from
Paige Lambright (Poplar Grove, IL/Belvidere North) with her mark of 39-0¼.
The Miners had four of the top seven finishers in the mile, led by
Emma Puetz's (Rolla, MO/Rolla) fourth place time of 5:34.66.
Aubrie Caldwell (Dripping Springs, TX/Dripping Springs) was fifth in 5:35.20,
Clare Holmes (Camdenton, MO/Camdenton) was sixth in 5:41.23 and
Grace Giesler (Owasso, OK/Owasso) finished seventh in 5:42.07.
Sydney Gratz (Geneva, IL/Geneva) cleared 10-11 in the pole vault to finish fourth in that event, while
Kassandra Hayes (Rolla, MO/Rolla) was fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 31-8¾.
Olivia Henkel (Liberty, MO/Liberty North) was fifth in the high jump with a clearance of 5-1¼, while Stephens took sixth in the weight throw with a mark of 45-5 and
Maya Wright (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro) was sixth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.69 seconds.
Wright also had a seventh place effort in the 400-meters with a time of 1:03.80 and
Jessica Rhoads (Holts Summit, MO/Jefferson City) posted a performance of 37-9½ in the shot put and 45-2 in the weight throw to place seventh in both events. Hayes cleared 4-11½ in the high jump to finish seventh.
The Miners finished with 41 points in the meet to finish behind host UCM, Emporia State and Southwest Baptist. S&T will compete at the Principia Relays next Saturday in Elsah, Ill.
