GREENSBORO, N.C. – Missouri S&T's swimming team recorded three All-America performances Thursday as the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships reached the halfway mark with the Miners currently residing in xxth place in the team standings.

Andy Huffman (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit) earned his 11^th career All-America award as he finished in 13^th place in the 400-yard individual medley, posting a time of 3:53.20 in the consolation final after going a season-best 3:52.97 in the morning preliminaries.  Meanwhile, Jay Mercer (Kansas City, MO/Whitefield Academy) finished 16^th in that event to earn his first All-America award; he had a time of 3:56.42 in the evening after recording his best time of the season of 3:55.56 in the morning.

Huffman's preliminary time was the fifth-fastest in Miner history in the 400-IM.

S&T also got an All-America performance from a relay team for the second day in succession, as the team of Noah Clancy (Alton, IL/Alton), Joshua Umrysh (Kingwood, TX/Kingwood), Nate Baxter (St. Charles, IL/St. Charles North) and Gabe Asevedo finished in 14^th place in the 400-yard medley relay in a time of 3:14.13.  That time was the second-fastest time in that event in program history.

Among the other Miners in competition on Thursday, Clancy had a time of 48.83 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly, Martin Melinder (Upplands Vasby, Sweden) recorded a mark of 4:00.27 in the 400-IM, Connor Wiedemeier (West Monroe, LA/West Monroe) had a time of 1:38.41 in the 200-yard freestyle and Alex Graham (Parker, TX/Homeschooled) finished that event in 1:39.44.

The Miners remained in 18^th place in the team standings following Thursday's competition with 35 points.  On Friday, S&T will have Graham and Melinder competing in the 500-yard freestyle, Clancy in the 100-yard backstroke, Umrysh in the 100-yard breaststroke and Huffman in the 200-yard butterfly.
