ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T's Jacob Luebbert (Warsaw, MO/Warsaw), who established a new school record over the weekend in the 35-pound weight throw, was named today as the Great Lakes Valley Conference's Field Athlete of the Week in men's track & field.

In the Miners' season opening meet at Pittsburg State, Luebbert recorded a school record throw of 67-9 to finish second in the event and also make an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark along the way.  The throw was the best in the GLVC on the young season and is currently the second-best in NCAA Division II.

In addition to his mark in the weight throw, Luebbert also finished in seventh place in the shot put competition with a mark of 51-8 ½ that is the fifth-best in the conference on the season.

It is the first weekly honor earned by Luebbert in his career at Missouri S&T.

Missouri S&T will resume its indoor track & field season on January 20 at the Central Missouri Invitational.
