ALLENDALE, Mich. – Missouri S&T junior
Nathan Swadley (Willard, MO/Willard) finished in 11
th place in the shot put competition Saturday at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships to close out the Miners' competition for the 2021 season.
Swadley, the Great Lakes Valley Conference champion in the shot put who was making his second career appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, recorded his best throw on his third attempt with a mark of 55-6¼. He also had a throw of 52-6½ in the second round, but his top throw was not long enough to earn a spot in the finals.
Missouri Southern's Rajindra Campbell, who had the top performance in the nation heading into the national meet, won the national championship in the shot put with a mark of 65-7.
