Track teams record trio of first place finishes at Lindenwood

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Nathan Swadley (Willard, MO/Willard) and Jessica Rhoads (Holts Summit, MO/Jefferson City) posted winning performances for Missouri S&T Sunday as a number of the Miners took part in the John Creer Invitational held at Lindenwood University.

Swadley captured first in the shot put with a mark of 55-feet and in the discus with a mark of 152-0, finishing just ahead of Garrett Miller's (Kearney, MO/Kearney) mark of 148-4.  Miller also had a third place showing in the shot at 46-11 and took fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 153-3.

Rhoads' win came in the discus with a throw of 132-3, while she also placed third in the hammer throw at 132-9 and added a seventh place effort in the shot put with a mark of 35-6½.

On the men's side, the Miners took four of the top seven spots in the hammer throw, led by Swadley's second place finish with a mark of 170-5.  Jacob Luebbert (Warsaw, MO/Warsaw) was third at 161-7 and Matt Weston, who was fourth in the shot at 45-5¼ and fifth in the discus at 121-2, placed seventh in the hammer with a mark of 129-4.  S&T also got a second place showing from Ethan Haller (Ballwin, MO/Marquette) in the 800-meters with a time of 1:57.43 and Luebbert added a fifth place performance in the shot put with a throw of 40-9.

Aside from Rhoads' performances, Sydney Stephens (Plattsburg, MO/Plattsburg) finished fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 123-0 and  Paige Lambright (Poplar Grove, IL/Belvidere North) had a fourth place showing in the shot put with her mark of 38-2. Brittany Moore (Fairfax, VA/Zama American) came in eighth place in the hammer throw with a mark of 112-8 and Clare Holmes (Camdenton, MO/Camdenton) finished ninth in the 800-meters in a time of 2:38.36.

Missouri S&T will host the Dewey Allgood Invitational Saturday at Allgood-Bailey Stadium.
