ST. JOSEPH, MO- The S&T women's golf team had a strong finish for the final round of the Holiday Inn Express Invitational. After a 327 first round found them in 4th place, the Miners completed the final round and shot a 334 second round for a team total of 661 and a solid 5^th place finish, out of 14 teams, in the team's opening spring invitational.

Central Missouri claimed the top team spot with a 632 final score shooting a 317 second round to knock day one leader, Minnesota State, into second place. Host school Missouri Western State and Oklahoma Baptist University claimed third and fourth place with a six stroke difference between the two.

S&T's Taylor Ornelas (Whittier, Calif./La Serna) was a major part of the team's success over the last two days; she led the team today with a 78 second round score to finish the classic with a 160 final score. She finished tied for 9^th place while Lauren Allen (Sacramento, Calif./St. Francis Catholic) finished tied for 15^th with a 162 final score. Karson Kimsey (Sautee Nacoochee, Ga./White County), Katie Hamiliton, and Anna Reisinger (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) rounded out the rest of the team placing 27^th, 38^th, and 61^st, respectively.

Missouri Western State's Shi Qing Ong was able to hold on to the top individual spot; she finished today six over par for a 78 second round score while finished four over with a 148 final score. Hailey Tollette (Minnesota State) claimed a second place finish while Olivia Sobaski (Central Missouri) finished in third place.
