FISHERS, IND.- The Miners climbed the rankings at the GLVC Championship today, moving into 5
th place following the conclusion of round two of the tournament.
S&T had the biggest improvement from yesterday, shaving 14 strokes off their score from yesterday to jump four spots in the team play. The Miners will head into tomorrow's final round with a 668 team score and just 17 strokes behind current 3
rd place team, Illinois Springfield. While UIndy, UMSL, and UIS still hold the top-3 spots, Lindenwood jumped up to the 4
th place spot.
Emilie Nguyen (Orange, Calif./Villa Park) still leads the Miners after 36 holes of play; Nguyen heads into the final round in 17
th place with a 163 score while
Taylor Ornelas (Whittier, Calif./La Serna) is not far behind her with a 167 score and in a four-way tie for 23
rd place.
Lauren Allen (Sacramento, Calif./St. Francis Catholic),
Karson Kimsey (Sautee Nacoochee, Ga./White County), and
Anna Reisinger (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) will start tomorrow's round with current scores of 169, 175, and 176, respectively.
The Miners will begin tomorrow's final round beginning at 8:18 a.m. at the first hole with
Anna Reisinger (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) leading off while
Karson Kimsey (Sautee Nacoochee, Ga./White County) tees-off at 8:27,
Lauren Allen (Sacramento, Calif./St. Francis Catholic) at 8:36,
Taylor Ornelas (Whittier, Calif./La Serna) at 8:45, and
Emilie Nguyen (Orange, Calif./Villa Park) at 8:54 a.m. EST.
