ST. LOUIS, MO- The Miner women's golf team snagged a 2
nd place finish over the past two days at the Triton Invitational.
S&T, who finished the tournament with a 635 final score, came in second place to 25
th ranked Missouri-St. Louis, who finished their tournament with a 619 score. Fellow GLVC schools Illinois Springfield, Lindenwood, and Drury rounded out the top-five teams.
Three Miners collected top-10 finishes in the individual play;
Emilie Nguyen (Orange, Calif./Villa Park) and
Lauren Allen (Sacramento, Calif./St. Francis Catholic) both finished round two with a 74 round score while finishing 13 over par for a share of 5
th place while
Taylor Ornelas (Whittier, Calif./La Serna) was right behind them at 14 over par and tied for 9
th place.
Karson Kimsey (Sautee Nacoochee, Ga./White County) and
Anna Reisinger (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) rounded out the rest of the team with final scores of 169 and 177, respectively.
Sami Swinfard (Jefferson City, Mo./Jefferson City), who was competing as an individual, finished with a 185 final score.
UMSL's Emma Thorngren and Linn Thorqvist took the top two spots in the individuals play while Maryville's Carmen Villaverde claimed 3
rd place.
