ROLLA, Mo. – The Missouri S&T Lady Miners begin a four game road trip this weekend with a trip to Kansas City to take on William Jewell on Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday at Rockhurst beginning at 1 p.m. The Lady Miners look to pick up their first win of 2015 and try and break a four game losing streak in the process.

S&T dropped its fourth straight and ninth in its last 10 games in a 75-55 loss this past Saturday against Southern Indiana. The Lady Miners allowed the Screaming Eagles to shot over 50 percent in the contest as USI had five players finish in double figures led by Anna Hackert with 14 points.

S&T shot 58 percent from beyond the arc, but struggled to make shots inside the perimeter going just 13-for-45 and were only 8-of-15 at the foul line. Brittany Andersen (Saint John, Ind./Andrean ) and Elsie Greenwood (Breckenridge, Mo./Penney High School) led the way with 12 points each while Janie Arand (Washington, Mo./St. Francis Borgia) added 11.

Leigh-Ann Kesper (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) continues to lead the Lady Miners in scoring with 8.7 points per game while Arand is averaging 7.9 per contest, Greenwood is dropping in 7.5 per night and Andersen is contributing 7.4 per game. Kesper leads the GLVC and is ranked seventh in NCAA-II with 3.00 blocked shots per game.

William Jewell enters this weekend's action after picking up a pair of wins at home last weekend over Indianapolis 74-44 and Saint Joseph's 70-60. The Cardinals shot 41 percent from the field in the win over the Greyhounds and shot nearly 80 percent from the foul line. Against the Pumas, WJC shot 65 percent from the field in the second half to overcome a three-point halftime deficit to earn the win.

The Cardinals have three players averaging double figure in scoring and are led by sophomore guard Maddie Nelson with 12.2 ppg. Senior guard Aerial Smith is averaging 12 points per contest while senior forward Hayli Jo Smith is averaging 10.6 points per game. Junior forward Makenzie Johnson leads the team in rebounding with nearly seven per game while Aerial Smith has dished out a team best 57 assists.

Rockhurst enters Thursday's contest against Drury with a record of 7-6, 1-4 in the GLVC after splitting a pair of home contests last week. The Hawks began the week with a 72-55 win over Saint Joseph's and then fell to Indianapolis on Saturday by a 60-52 decision.

Sophomore guard Mary Dineen leads Rockhurst in scoring with 14.4 points per contest and is joined in double figures by Lauren Meyers and Kendall Hart who are averaging 14.0 and 10.3 ppg.
