Miners Lock Down Lincoln in Pink Out Victory at Gibson Arena

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T closed out its home regular season schedule in strong fashion Thursday night, earning a 51-38 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Lincoln inside Gibson Arena. 
 
The Miners (11-14, 7-12 GLVC) used a dominant second quarter and a steady fourth-quarter push to separate from the Blue Tigers, holding Lincoln to just 27 percent shooting from the field and 20 percent from three-point range. After trailing 12-11 at the end of the first, S&T outscored Lincoln 14-4 in the second quarter to take control and never looked back. 
 
Missouri S&T finished the night shooting 32.8 percent (19-of-58) from the field and knocked down 11-of-19 free throws, including a perfect 4-for-4 effort in the final quarter. The Miners controlled the glass with a 52-39 rebounding advantage and held a 34-22 edge in points in the paint. 
 
Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) led the way with eight points and eight rebounds, while Anna Gilbertson (Lake Zurich, IL/Lake Zurich) added eight points and a block. Ava McCulla (St. Louis, MO/Parkway South) provided a strong presence inside with six points and six rebounds, while Megan Aulbert (Lake St. Louis, MO/Lutheran)and Kiarra Kilgore (Galesburg, IL/Galesburg) each chipped in six points off the bench. Adrianne Tolen (West Lafayette, IN/West Lafayette) contributed five points and two assists, and the Miners' bench accounted for 25 of the team's 51 points. 
 
Defensively, S&T forced 10 turnovers and limited Lincoln to just six free-throw attempts, keeping the Blue Tigers from finding offensive rhythm throughout the contest. 
 
What's Next 
The Miners are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 28 for Senior Day as they take on Drury at 1 p.m. inside Gibson Arena.
