S&T set to do battle with Charleston at Rollins Thanksgiving Classic

(Winter Park, Fla.) - The Missouri S&T Lady Miners return to the hardwood on Friday as it takes on the University of Charleston (WV) Golden Eagles in the opening round of the 2012 Rollins Thanksgiving Classic in Winter Park, Fla. The Lady Miners and Golden Eagles will tip-off at 2 p.m. (CT) with the winner advancing to Saturday's championship game against either Rollins or Tusculum.

S&T (1-1) will try and bounce back from a 49-42 loss to St. Mary's in its last outing. The Lady Miners shot just 23.5 percent (12-for-51) from the field and was just 3-of-12 from behind the three-point line. Toni Knar (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) had a game-high 15 points for S&T while Hailee Parks (Sullivan, Mo./Sullivan) chipped in with 10 points.

Charleston is 1-0 on the season after opening its season last Saturday with a 93-76 win over Slippery Rock last Saturday. The Golden Eagles had four players score in double figures led by LeAnne Ross with 20 off the bench. Nichole Perry dropped in 19, Jessi Cowden added 15 and Kayla Dozier finished with 10. Tianni Kelly finished the game with seven rebounds while Ross, Cowden and Dozier had six boards apiece.

Friday's game will be the first ever meeting betweent the two schools.
