ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T sophomore
David Huskisson (Kirksville, Mo./Kirksville) was named Tuesday as the Great Lakes Valley Conference's “Runner of the Week” for the third time in the 2010 season, earning the honor after his performance at the Chile Pepper Festival Saturday at the University of Arkansas.
Huskisson covered the 10-kilometer course in 31:25.42 to place 83rd overall out of the 470 runners in the race that included a large number of runners from the NCAA Division I ranks. As a team, the Miners finished 19th out of the 50 teams that were entered and were fifth among the 19 NCAA Division II schools entered in the race.
In Saturday's meet, the Miners finished a spot ahead of Tulsa and six places ahead of LSU.
Missouri S&T is currently ranked seventh in the Midwest region in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association rankings and will return to the course Nov. 6 when it competes at the GLVC Championships in Kenosha, Wis.
