ROLLA, Mo. -- Missouri S&T men's and women's track and field is set to compete at the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Championships, taking place April 30 through May 2 at Plaster Stadium on the campus of Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri.
The Miners enter the championship meet looking to build on a strong 2025 campaign that saw the men finish third overall with 119 points and the women place fifth with 57 points. Missouri S&T's men's program brings a storied history into the meet, having captured a GLVC-record eight outdoor conference titles.
Last Year's Highlights
Missouri S&T returns several key contributors from last year's GLVC Championships, including Jake Salazar-Blair (Phoenix, AZ/Desert Vista), who captured the javelin title with a throw of 58.60 meters.
In the throws, Madelaine Fischer (Anamosa, IA/Anamosa) and Sydney Morris (Jefferson City, MO/Calvary Lutheran) both turned in top-10 finishes in the discus, with Fischer placing fourth (42.46m) and Morris finishing 10th (40.78m).
The Miners also found success in the jumps, as Vince Scott (Gilberts, IL/Hampshire) earned All-GLVC honors with a third-place finish in the triple jump (14.37m). Luke Bass (St. Peters, MO/Fort Zumwalt South) added a ninth-place finish in the high jump, while Hailey Smith (Wentzville, MO/Timberland) placed fifth in the triple jump.
On the track and in multi-events, Maya Wright (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro) earned All-GLVC honors in the 100-meter hurdles with a third-place finish (14.61) and added a second-place finish in the heptathlon alongside Lauryn Fenoglio (Granite City, IL/Granite City), who placed third. Ali McClure (St. Louis, MO/Kirkwood) also contributed with a fifth-place finish in the women's long jump, while Wilson Klein (Houston, TX/Lutheran South Academy) placed sixth in the pole vault.
National Rankings to Watch
Missouri S&T enters the weekend with multiple nationally ranked athletes poised to make an impact. Morris leads the way, currently ranked 12th nationally in the shot put with a mark of 14.76 meters, while Fischer ranks 40th in the discus at 46.49 meters.
On the men's side, Justin Chadwell (Norwood, MO/Norwood) is ranked 32nd in the triple jump (14.81m), and Salazar-Blair sits 46th nationally in the javelin with a throw of 60.82 meters. Wright also ranks 36th nationally in the heptathlon with 4,700 points.
Meet Information
The three-day championship begins Thursday, April 30 and runs through Saturday, May 2 at Plaster Stadium. Gates will open one hour prior to the first event each day.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for students with ID and youth (grades 6-12), and free for children ages 5 and under. All tickets must be purchased in advance online, and no cash will be accepted on site.
