Women’s Basketball Travels to Drury for Key GLVC Road Test

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T women's basketball hits the road this week to continue Great Lakes Valley Conference play, traveling to Springfield, Mo., to take on Drury University on Thursday, Jan. 8, with tipoff scheduled for 5:45 p.m.

The Miners enter the matchup 6–5 overall and 2–3 in GLVC play, looking to bounce back and gain momentum midway through the conference schedule.

About the Miners
Missouri S&T has been strong on both ends of the floor through the first 11 games of the season, averaging 68.1 points per game while holding opponents to 55.2 points per contest, good for a +12.9 scoring margin. The Miners have controlled the glass, pulling down 44.5 rebounds per game and owning a +10.0 rebounding margin, while also averaging 9.0 steals and 3.5 blocks per contest.

Individually, Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) leads S&T with 12.5 points per game, shooting 45.5% from the field, while Anna Finley (Owensville, MO/Owensville) adds 10.7 points per game and is converting 90.3% from the free-throw line. Ava McCulla (St. Louis, MO/Parkway South) has been a presence inside with 9.2 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, and Anna Gilbertson (Lake Zurich, IL/Lake Zurich) continues to provide efficient scoring, shooting 52.2% from the floor. S&T's balanced attack features eleven players averaging at least three points per game, giving the Miners depth throughout the rotation.

About Drury
Drury enters Thursday's matchup 8–4 overall and 5–0 in GLVC play, averaging 67.9 points per game while shooting 42.1% from the field and 34.5% from three. The Panthers are led by Sara Mendel (14.5 PPG, 9.9 RPG) and Rhi Gibbons (13.8 PPG), with Kaylee King adding perimeter scoring after knocking down 21 three-pointers this season.

Defensively, Drury limits opponents to 38.7% shooting and 25.4% from beyond the arc, making them one of the league's most efficient two-way teams.

Following Thursday's matchup, Missouri S&T continues conference play next week, traveling to Missouri-St. Louis on Thursday, Jan. 15, at 5:30 p.m., before competing at Maryville on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 1 p.m.
