Wright, Knittel Earn GLVC Player of the Week Honors After Standout Multis Performances

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Missouri S&T's Maya Wright (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro) and Otto Knittel (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill) have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Women's and Men's Track & Field Players of the Week, respectively, announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Women's Player of the Week – Maya Wright (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro)
Wright turned in a standout all-around performance in the pentathlon at the Don DeNoon Classic, recording multiple indoor personal bests and establishing herself among the top competitors in the conference and nation.

The senior posted indoor bests in the high jump (1.58m) and shot put (9.58m), contributing to a converted score of 3,437 points. Her mark currently ranks first in the GLVC and 21st in NCAA Division II, highlighting her strong early-season form in the multis.

Men's Player of the Week – Otto Knittel (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill)
Knittel delivered a historic performance at the Don DeNoon Classic, winning the heptathlon with 5,112 points and breaking the Missouri S&T school record previously held by Ezekiel Buck (5,077 points, 2018).

The graduate student recorded indoor bests in five of the seven events, including the 60-meter dash (7.19s), long jump (6.57m), shot put (12.07m), high jump (1.90m), and pole vault (4.15m). His converted score of 5,136 points ranks first in the GLVC and third nationally in NCAA Division II, marking one of the top multis performances in the country this season.
