ROLLA, Mo. – The Missouri S&T men's indoor track and field team debuted at No. 18 in the latest USTFCCCA national rankings, released this week, marking another early-season milestone for the Miners.

Missouri S&T is one of just three Great Lakes Valley Conference programs ranked nationally, as the Miners continue to build momentum during the indoor campaign.

Individually, several Miners earned national recognition following standout performances in the early portion of the season. Otto Knittel (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill) currently ranks third nationally in the heptathlon with 5,136 points, a mark that also sits atop the GLVC standings. Knittel's total came after a record-breaking performance that established a new Missouri S&T school record.

In the throwing events, Owen Fraser (Kirksville, MO/Kirksville) continues to assert himself among the nation's elite. Fraser ranks third in NCAA Division II in the shot put with a top throw of 18.71 meters, while also checking in at No. 20 nationally in the weight throw with a mark of 19.37 meters.

The national recognition reflects the Miners' strong depth across multiple disciplines as Missouri S&T continues to stack quality performances heading into the heart of the indoor season.
