INDIANAPOLIS, IN  --  Missouri S&T Men's Field athlete Owen Fraser (Kirksville, MO/Kirksville) has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC)( Field Athlete of the week after a record-setting performance at the Show Me Showdown. He set records in two events as well as hitting NCAA Division II provisional marks in both.

Fraser took first place in the shot put with a throw of 18.71 meters, beating out competition from multiple levels including NCAA Division I. His mark in the shot put is a new record for both Missouri S&T's program as well as the GLVC and is the second-best mark in Division II this season.

Fraser also placed second in the weight throw behind Mizzou's Sam Innes with a mark of 19.37 meters, setting another school record in the process. The throw is the second-best in GLVC history and ranks him tied for 16th in Division II this season.
