Women’s Basketball Travels to UMSL, Maryville for GLVC Road Swing

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T women's basketball hits the road this week for a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference contests, traveling to face Missouri–St. Louis on Thursday, Jan. 15, at 5:30 p.m., before visiting Maryville on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 1 p.m.

The Miners enter the week 7–5 overall and 3–3 in GLVC play, coming off a strong road victory at Drury as they look to build momentum during the heart of the conference schedule.

About the Miners
Missouri S&T has been solid on both ends of the floor through the first half of the season, averaging 68.6 points per game while holding opponents to 56.2, good for a +12.4 scoring margin. The Miners have controlled the glass, pulling down 43.9 rebounds per game and owning a +9.1 rebounding margin, while also averaging 8.8 steals and 3.7 blocks per contest.

Individually, Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) leads the Miners with 12.2 points per game, while Anna Finley (Owensville, MO/Owensville) adds 10.4 points. Ava McCulla (St. Louis, MO/Parkway South) averages 9.0 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, anchoring a frontcourt that continues to create second-chance opportunities. 

About the Tritons
Missouri–St. Louis enters Thursday's contest 12–2 overall and a perfect 8–0 in GLVC play, establishing itself as one of the league's top teams. The Tritons average 65.7 points per game while holding opponents to just 53.3, resulting in a +12.4 scoring margin. UMSL shoots 41.8% from the field, rebounds at a strong 39.4 per game, and owns a +9.1 rebounding margin. 

Offensively, UMSL is led by Mara Rieder, who averages 20.9 points and 9.6 rebounds per game, shooting an efficient 53.7% from the floor. Jayden Kuper adds 13.9 points per contest, while Morgan Ramthun contributes 11.7 points and 9.6 rebounds, giving the Tritons multiple scoring threats.

About the Saints
Maryville enters Saturday's matchup 12–4 overall and 6–2 in GLVC play, ranking among the league's top teams early in the conference slate. The Saints average 67.4 points per game while holding opponents to 56.1, resulting in an +11.4 scoring margin. They shoot 39.3% from the field and knock down 7.4 three-pointers per game, while also forcing 18.5 turnovers per contest.

Individually, Lindsey Schadewalt leads Maryville with 13.4 points per game and has connected on 34 three-pointers this season. Adylan Ayer (9.3 PPG) and Claire Lueken (9.0 PPG) provide additional scoring depth, while Ayer anchors the frontcourt with 4.9 rebounds per game. 

What's Next
Missouri S&T continues conference play at home, hosting McKendree on Thursday, Jan. 22, at 5:30 p.m., before taking on Illinois Springfield on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 1 p.m. at Gibson Arena.
