Miners Battle Bulldogs in GLVC Road Match

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. -- Missouri S&T women's volleyball fell in three sets to Truman State in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play at Pershing Arena.

The Miners battled point for point in the opening and closing frames, pushing the Bulldogs before dropping 25-19, 25-13, 25-19 decisions. Elly Decker (Manhattan, IL/Lincoln Way West) powered the offense with a match-high 12 kills to go along with eight digs, while Danielle Wilke (Palmer Lake, CO/Palmer Ridge) delivered one of her most efficient outings of the season, hitting .313 with eight kills and three block assists

At the net, Kate Zipprich (Hardin, IL/Calhoun) added five blocks to anchor the front line. Elise Mehaffy (Marion, IA/Marion) and Annie Arand (Washington, MO/St. Francis Borgia) directed the offense with 12 and 11 assists, respectively. Selin Ozdemir (Ankara, Turkey/TED Ankara Koleji) contributed six digs and four kills to round out the balanced effort

The Miners (2-11, 0-2 GLVC) will continue conference play on the road Friday, October 4, at Maryville, set for 3 p.m.
