CANYON, TX -- The Miners sent a two athletes to the Jo Meaker Classic and Multi over the weekend, leading to
Maya Wright (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro) and
Otto Knittel (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill) both recording provisional marks.
Wright scored 4,630 points in the heptathlon, passing the provisional mark of 4,564. Her mark was a new personal record and the fifth-highest heptathlon mark in S&T history.
Knittel's 6,972 points in the decathlon were enough to break his existing S&T record of 6,921 points. He now ranks 7th in Division II for the decathlon.
