INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- The 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field preseason polls have release, with the Men's team ranking 3rd after taking the title the last four years in a row and the women's team ranking 5th.
The Miners Men's team will be looking to make it five championships in a row this year, after winning every GLVC OTF title since 2021. Throws looks to be the team's strongest category again this season, with 2024 Discus All-American
Owen Fraser (Kirksville, MO/Kirksville) headlining that group.
Ethan Crouch (Rolla, MO/Rolla) is excepted to be a key performer as well this year after winning the shot put with a provisional mark at the indoor track and field championships earlier this season.
Some impact athletes for the women's team this season include
Hailey Smith (Wentzville, MO/Timberland),
Olivia Henkel (Liberty, MO/Liberty North),
Maya Wright (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro), and
Sydney Morris (Jefferson City, MO/Calvary Lutheran). Smith started off the 2025 outdoor season strong, setting a new school record in the triple jump with a mark of 11.67m. Henkel and Wright both recorded NCAA provisional marks in the indoor season... Henkel's coming on a 1.67m leap in the high jump and Wright's coming in a 3,438 point performance in the pentathlon at the GLVC ITF championships. Morris has been solid in throws in her first season with the Miners, recording top 5 marks in both the indoor and outdoor shot put.
