ROLLA, MO -- Owen Fraser (Kirksville, MO/Kirksville) had a record-shattering performance at the Miner Invitational last weekend, earning him the first Great Lakes Valley Conference outdoor track athlete of the week award of the season. The award is Fraser's second in his career and the first by a Miner since
Jacob Luebbert (Warsaw, MO/Warsaw) won it on April 24th. 2024.
Fraser won the shot and discus at the Miner Invite on Saturday with conference leading marks of 17.56m and 57.88m. He broke his own record in the discus twice on Saturday, with his further mark of 57.88m now leading NCAA Division II by 2 meters. Additionally, his shot mark ranks 3rd in DII.
