12/30/2025 2:09:00 PM

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T women's basketball returns to Gibson Arena this weekend to open the 2026 portion of its schedule and resume Great Lakes Valley Conference play. The Miners will host William Jewell on Friday, Jan. 2, at 5:30 p.m., followed by Truman State on Sunday, Jan. 4, at 1 p.m.

S&T enters the weekend 5–4 overall and 1–2 in GLVC play, looking to build off a strong nonconference finish before diving back into league action.

About the Miners
Missouri S&T has shown consistent balance on both ends of the floor through the season's first nine games, averaging 68.9 points per game while holding opponents to 54.6 points per contest. The Miners rank among the GLVC leaders in rebounding margin (+10.7) and steals per game (9.0), using defensive pressure and second-chance opportunities to control tempo.

Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) leads the team offensively at 12.2 points per game, while Anna Finley (Owensville, MO/Owensville) adds 11.0 points and shoots 88.9% from the free-throw line. Inside, Ava McCulla (St. Louis, MO/Parkway South) averages 7.0 rebounds per game, anchoring an S&T frontcourt that pulls down nearly 45 rebounds per contest. The Miners have also received strong contributions from Anna Gilbertson (Lake Zurich, IL/Lake Zurich), Savannah Campbell (Rolla, MO/Rolla), and Adrianne Tolen (West Lafayette, IN/West Lafayette), giving S&T multiple scoring options in the rotation.

About the Cardinals
William Jewell (0–9, 0–3 GLVC) enters Friday's matchup still searching for its first win of the season. The Cardinals are averaging 49.9 points per game while shooting 32.2% from the field, and have faced a challenging early conference slate.

Jewell is led offensively by Jariah Harris (9.6 PPG) and Syderah Farmer (9.4 PPG, 7.6 RPG), while Jalea Price adds 8.9 points per contest and leads the team with 16 made three-pointers. On the glass, Jewell averages 35.9 rebounds per game, but has struggled with ball security, committing 24.7 turnovers per game, an area Missouri S&T will look to capitalize on.

Last season, the Miners defeated the Cardinals 71–64 in a tightly contested matchup.

About the Bulldogs
Truman State (5–6, 2–1 GLVC) comes to Rolla riding momentum from a strong start to conference play, including wins over Rockhurst and Southwest Baptist. The Bulldogs are averaging 70.4 points per game while shooting 41.7% from the field and 32.4% from three-point range.

Truman features a balanced scoring attack led by Emajin McCallop (14.6 PPG), Morgan Miller (11.0 PPG), and Mariann Blass (10.6 PPG), while Mallory Ott anchors the frontcourt with 6.6 rebounds per game. Defensively, the Bulldogs force 17.8 turnovers per game and average 8.5 steals, making Sunday's matchup a physical, fast-paced test.

Missouri S&T edged Truman 70–67 last season in a close conference battle.
