Men's Basketball Stays Unbeaten, Powers Past Lincoln in GLVC Opener

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Missouri S&T men's basketball remained perfect on the season and opened Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play in commanding fashion, defeating Lincoln 99-87 on Monday night at Jason Gym.

The Miners (4-0, 1-0 GLVC) shot a blistering 57.1 percent from the field, built a double-digit lead in the first half, and never looked back, showcasing a balanced, efficient offense with five players scoring in double figures.

Cameron Stovall (St. Louis, MO/Vashon) delivered another standout performance, finishing with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and strong defensive play, including one steal and a block. Zac Brown (Collinsville, OK/Collinsville) was dominant inside, scoring 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting, adding three rebounds and a block.

Alex Benassi (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit) filled the stat sheet with 15 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, while Blaise Beauchamp (Minnetonka, MN/Hopkins) chipped in 13 points and three steals. Andrew Young (Ballwin, MO/Marquette) provided 11 points, five rebounds, four assists, and a block, giving S&T a stable presence on both ends of the floor.

The Miner bench contributed 24 points, highlighted by Oliver Kokal's (Chesterfield, MO/Parkway Central) nine points and Adam Rickman's (Washington, MO/St. Francis Borgia) eight. Darron Henry (Long Beach, CA/Long Beach Poly) added five, including a three-pointer, during a key first-half run that helped S&T build a 49–38 halftime lead.

S&T overpowered Lincoln in the paint with a 50–32 scoring advantage, forced 12 turnovers, and pushed the tempo for 11 fast-break points. The Miners also secured 15 second-chance points from 11 offensive rebounds, showcasing their work on the glass.

Missouri S&T hits the road this week for two more GLVC matchups, traveling to Quincy on Thursday and Upper Iowa on Saturday.
