KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Missouri S&T forward
Andrew Young (Ballwin, MO/Marquette) has been named to a second All-Region team, this time earning Second Team All-Region honors in the Midwest from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
Young led the Miners in scoring, rebounding, and blocking this year. He ranked 7th in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) for points per game with 17.0, 12th in rebounding with 6.7 per game, 6th in field goal percentage at 50.9%, and 5th in blocking with 1.2 per game. His play helped the Miners to a 19-9 season that marked the first time in program history that the team recorded back-to-back 19+ win seasons.
Young adds the NABC All-Region honor to a season in which he has already been named Second Team All-Region by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association and named First Team All-GLVC.
