Women’s Basketball Opens GLVC Play with Three-Game Week

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T women's basketball begins Great Lakes Valley Conference action this week with a three-game slate, starting Monday, Dec. 1, on the road at Lincoln University at 5:30 p.m. The Miners then travel to Quincy on Thursday, Dec. 4, for another 5:30 p.m. matchup before heading north to Fayette for a Saturday contest at Upper Iowa at 1 p.m.

S&T enters the week 2–2 overall, coming off a dominant 83–35 home-opening win over Cottey College. The Miners are averaging 71.0 points per game while holding opponents to 60.8 on the season.

About the Miners
Missouri S&T has opened the season with strong balance across the lineup, led by returning All-GLVC First Team selection Anna Finley (Owensville, MO/Owensville), who leads the team with 12.0 points per game, shooting 90% at the free-throw line (18-for-20).

Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) adds 11.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest, while Anna Gilbertson (Lake Zurich, IL/Lake Zurich) and Ava McCulla (St. Louis, MO/Parkway South) each average 10.3 points per game, with McCulla pulling down a team-leading 8.0 rebounds per game.

As a team, the Miners hold a +10.8 rebounding margin and are shooting 42.0% from the field, backed by 175 total rebounds across the first four games (43.8 per game).

About the Blue Tigers
Lincoln (3–3, 1–0 GLVC) enters Monday's matchup coming off its first conference win of the season, a 59–54 victory over Southwest Baptist on Nov. 29. The Blue Tigers are led by standout guard Laini Joseph, who averages 17.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, shooting 36.5% from the field and 81.5% at the free-throw line.

Hallie Williamson adds 13.2 points per game while shooting 39.5% from three, and Bella Borgos contributes 9.3 points per contest with a strong 44.2% mark from the field. As a team, Lincoln averages 60.7 points per game, makes 8.0 threes per game, and shoots 72.5% from the free-throw line.

About the Hawks
Quincy (3–2) returns home after falling 75–62 to Emporia State on Tuesday. The Hawks are averaging 71.8 points per game behind standout guard Katey Flynn, who leads the team with 18.0 points per contest, shooting an impressive 64.6% from the field and 61.5% from three.

Quincy features three double-digit scorers, Flynn, Acheampomaa Danso (11.4 PPG), and Hampton Williams (10.0 PPG), and averages 17.6 assists per game.

About the Peacocks
Upper Iowa (2–3) enters the weekend after an 80–61 win over Clarke University. The Peacocks are led by Ellie Foster, who averages 12.4 points per game, and Ava Privet, who adds 10.8 points and a team-best 4.2 rebounds per contest.

As a team, Upper Iowa is averaging 55.2 points per game while shooting 36.9% from the field. The Peacocks have struggled on the boards early, carrying a –13.4 rebounding margin through their first five games.

What's Next
Following the three-game conference road stretch, Missouri S&T returns to Gibson Arena for back-to-back nonconference matchups, hosting Ecclesia on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 5:30 p.m. and Spalding on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m.
