Women’s Basketball Hosts Cottey College Wednesday for Home Opener

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T women's basketball returns to Gibson Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 26, for its 2025–26 home opener, hosting Cottey College at 1 p.m. The Miners (1–2) look to bounce back after a competitive road battle at Emporia State last weekend, where they fell 78–72 despite a 20-point effort from Anna Finley (Owensville, MO/Owensville).

About the Miners
Missouri S&T enters Wednesday at 1–2 after splitting games at the Midwest Region Crossover and dropping a tight contest at Emporia State. In last Saturday's matchup, Finley led the Miners with 20 points, while Anna Gilbertson (Lake Zurich, IL/Lake Zurich) added 17, and Ava McCulla (St. Louis, MO/Parkway South) posted 12 points and eight rebounds.

The Miners' balanced scoring core, Finley, Gilbertson, Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo), and McCulla, returns to guide a young roster that features eight newcomers who have already begun contributing meaningful minutes. S&T defeated Cottey College 85–46 last season and looks to replicate that success in its home debut.

About Cottey College
Cottey College (0–7) visits Rolla still searching for its first win of the season. The Comets dropped their most recent contests to Southwestern (70–58) and Missouri Western (111–36).

Cottey is led offensively by Gabrielle Burrus, averaging 15.6 points per game, while AuShae Farris adds 9.3 points per game. Andrea Aragon leads the Comets on the glass with 4.1 rebounds per contest.

What's Next
After Wednesday's home opener, Missouri S&T will break for the holiday before beginning GLVC play the following week. The Miners open the conference slate on the road at Lincoln on Monday, Dec. 1, then continue the trip at Quincy on Thursday, Dec. 4, before wrapping up the stretch at Upper Iowa on Saturday, Dec. 6.
