INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Missouri S&T Men's Golf won the UIndy Fall Invitational on Tuesday afternoon guided by a third-place finish from
Connor Benjamin (Nelson Bay, Australia/St. Philip's Christian College).
In their second competition of the season, the Miners placed first at the UIndy Fall Invitational after they shot -35 as a team.
S&T remained in first place for the entire invitational as they were guided by
Rizq Adam Rohizam () early on. In the first round, he shot a 67 to lead the team. In the second round,
Connor Benjamin (Nelson Bay, Australia/St. Philip's Christian College) also shot a 67, his best of the weekend. Missouri S&T held a one stroke lead over Ferris State after day one with one round to play on Tuesday.
As a team on Tuesday, the Miners closed out the Invitational after they shot a collective 347 to close out Ferris State.
Cole Komyati (Elberta, AL/Bayside Academy) shot a 68, while Benjamin and
Isaac To (Petaling Jaya, Malaysia/Real International School) both shot a 69.
Benjamin finished in third place thanks to a 69, 67 and 69 for a total of 205 strokes.
Nicolas Estrada (Zaragoza, Spain/IES Valdespartera) placed seventh after he shot a 208. Rohizam recorded 11
th, To was in 17
th and Komyati placed 18
th.
Missouri S&T has collected two top-two finishes halfway through the fall season. They placed second out of 11 teams at the Arch Cup earlier this fall and first at the UIndy Fall Invitational.
The Miners are back in action next week at the Midwest Regional Preview at the St. Joseph Country Club. The preview is slated for Sept. 30-Oct. 1 hosted by UMSL.
