ROLLA, Mo. – The Miners had several strong performances in their sweep against the Peacocks this last week, but none better than
Dylan Mollett (St. Louis, MO/Oakville) and
Jack Bell (Andover, KS/Andover Central), earning them the GLVC Baseball Pitcher of the Week and GLVC Baseball Player of the Week, respectively.
Dylan Mollett's (St. Louis, MO/Oakville) award-winning outing came in the first game of the series in which he went seven innings as the starting pitcher. Mollett recorded eight strikeouts which included three in a row in the top of the fourth. He only allowed three runners on base off three hits, giving up zero walks and zero HBPs.
Jack Bell (Andover, KS/Andover Central) started in center field and was S&T's lead off batter for all five games this week. He had a .476 batting average, recording 10 hits, 6 RBIs, and 8 runs. His hits included four doubles, a triple and a homerun, giving him a .905 slugging percentage. He also had four stolen bases. His defensive contributions were significant as well, recording 12 putouts, several of which would have been difficult to reach if not for his speed and acceleration.
The Miners look to continue their win streak when they travel to Kirksville, MO this week to take on the Truman State Bulldogs.
