ROLLA, Mo. -- Missouri S&T Baseball's Dylan Bates (O'Fallon, MO/Fort Zumwalt West) has been named Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Second Team All-Region, adding another postseason honor to a standout 2026 campaign. The recognition marks his latest accolade following First Team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference honors and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Second Team All-Region distinction.
Bates anchored the Miners' pitching staff throughout the season, delivering one of the most productive years by a Missouri S&T starter in nearly a decade. The senior right-hander went 10-2 on the mound, the most wins by a Miner pitcher since 2016, and played a key role in the program's school-record 19-game win streak, adding five wins during that stretch.
He posted a 3.26 earned run average, the lowest by an S&T starting pitcher since Dalton Erger in 2019, while ranking second in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) in ERA and sixth in strikeouts with 66. His performance earned him First Team All-Conference recognition as one of the league's top pitchers.
One of Bates' defining outings came on March 22 against Truman State, when he threw a complete-game shutout. He allowed just five hits and one walk while striking out a career-high 11 batters in the dominant performance.
Bates' All-Region selection also carries historical significance for the Miners, as he becomes Missouri S&T's first All-Region pitcher since Aaron Bedsworth in 2016. With Bates' recognition this season and Will Beckham (Mountain Home, AR/Mountain Home) earning D2CCA All-Region honors last year as a designated hitter, the Miners have now produced consecutive D2CCA All-Region honorees for just the first time in program history.
