ROLLA, MO -- Missouri S&T right-handed pitcher Dylan Bates (O'Fallon, MO/Fort Zumwalt West) has continued to collect postseason recognition for his 2026 season, most recently being named First Team All-Region in the Midwest by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).
The honor adds yet another line to an already extensive postseason resume for Bates, who earlier earned First Team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) recognition and GLVC All-Tournament recognition as well as Second Team All-Region honors from both the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).
Bates was a steady force atop the Miners' rotation all season, finishing with a 10-2 record—marking the highest win total by a Missouri S&T pitcher since 2016. His ten wins tied him for 14th in NCAA Division II this season. He also posted a 3.26 ERA, which ranked second among all GLVC pitchers, and struck out 66 batters to place sixth in the league.
Beyond the season-long numbers, Bates delivered several defining outings, including an 8-inning, 1.13 ERA performance in NCAA Regionals against Davenport and a complete-game shutout on March 22 against Truman State. In the latter performance, he limited the Bulldogs to five hits and one walk while setting a new career high with 11 strikeouts.
His consistency was also a key piece of Missouri S&T's school-record 19-game winning streak, during which he accounted for five victories.
With the ABCA selection, Bates becomes just the third Miner ever to receive First Team honors from the organization.
