Carter Adds Two Point Guards in 2025-26 Class

11/13/2024 4:30:00 PM

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T Women’s Basketball added two players this week for the 2025-26 season.

“We are excited to welcome Macy and Ava to the women’s basketball program,” said head coach Kira Carter. “They are both tough competitors and have strong work ethics to match. They are passionate about the game of basketball and equally strong students in the classroom. Macy and Ava are both high character individuals that will be a great addition to our team culture and the campus community.”

Ava Casper, a Bixby, Oklahoma, native, comes in as a 5’7 guard. She attends Hollan Hall High School just south of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The left-hander also plays for AAO Flight Elite. Her team at Holland Hall was the Class 5A state runner-up last season and she played an integral role in that team. Casper also has an impressive 4.11 GPA and 29 ACT score.

“Ava is a lefty shooter that also has the ability to create off of the dribble,” Carter said. “She has a positive and persistent attitude that will carry her on the court and in the classroom. She plans to study architectural engineering and will also compliment the culture of our current team.”

Macy Marraccini is another guard hailing from Oklahoma. She attends Broken Arrow High School in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The 5’5 guard was voted as the SBLive Oklahoma High School Athlete of the Week on Jan. 22, 2024, after she put up 21 points and 12 rebounds in a rival game against Jenks. Her team went 18-9 last season with an 11-3 6A District 4 record but fell in the state tournament.

“Macy is a scrappy guard that plays with a chip on her shoulder,” Carter said. “She is shifty with the ball in her hands and wants to make plays to help her team win. She has a drive to grow and compete on a daily basis. She plans to study psychology and should be a great fit with the current team members.”

These two Oklahoma natives will be ready to go on the 2025-26 roster next season. In terms of this season, the Miners begin an eight-game homestand on Saturday night when they take on Cottey at 7 p.m.
