ROLLA, Mo. -- Cross Country's
Henry Born (Lake Quivira, KS/Shawnee Mission Northwest) was selected to compete at this year's NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships, becoming the first Miner in 21 years to earn the honor.
Born has had a strong 2024 season breaking numerous personal and school records along the way. He earned Midwest All-Region Honors at the Midwest Regional this weekend, placing 9th overall with a personal-best 31:15.4 in the 10k. Born is one of four individual qualifiers from the Midwest region, being joined by Drury's Tyler Harris, Tiffin's Talel Khalfi, and UIndy's Felix Rivet.
The last Miner to participate in the National Cross Country Championships was Kate Hamera in 2003 where she ran a 22:32.6 in the Women's 6k to finish 33rd in a field of 189.
Born will be traveling to Sacramento, California next week for the championships and will compete at the Arcade Creek Cross Country Course on Saturday, November 23rd.
