PITTSBURG, Kan. – Missouri S&T had three individuals make NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks Saturday in its season opening meet at the Crimson & Gold Invitational at Pittsburg State University.

Jacob Luebbert (Warsaw, MO/Warsaw) made an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark as he placed second in the weight throw, recording a mark of 64-10, while Owen Fraser (Kirksville, MO/Kirksville) did likewise in the shot put as he posted a mark of 54-9¾ that earned him a fifth place finish.

The third provisional qualifier, Otto Knittel (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill), wrapped up competition in the heptathlon as part of the Boo Rogers Multi-Events in 10th place, posting a score of 5,031 points that also surpassed the mark needed by better than 300 points to make the provisional standard.  Caleb Craft (Jackson, MO/Jackson) ended up in 15th place in that competition with his score of 4,591 points.

Aside from the two provisional qualifiers, Andrew Bacon (Webster Groves, MO/Webster Groves) had an eighth place showing in the 5,000-meters with a school record time of 14:32.59 -- 17 seconds faster than the previous record held by Brad Chronister -- and also finished ninth in the 800-meters in 1:54.40, while Ethan Crouch (Rolla, MO/Rolla) was 10th in the shot put with a mark of 50-5½.
