WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Missouri S&T's track & field team resumed its schedule Friday and got a win from
Aaron Toben (Wildwood, MO/Lafayette) in the 400-meters to go along with four additional second place finishes to finish third in the team standings at the meet.
Toben won the 400-meters by capturing the final heat of the timed finals in 51.19 seconds as one of three Miners to place among the top six. He was joined in that event by
Otto Knittel (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill), who recorded a fifth place time of 52.28 seconds and
Michael Pate (Wildwood, MO/Lafayette), who nabbed sixth in 52.40 seconds.
S&T had four of the top eight finishers in the shot put, led by
Nathan Swadley's (Willard, MO/Willard) second place mark of 56-11½, while
Tyler Marchert (Frankfort, IL/Lincoln-Way East) was sixth in the event with a mark of 50-2¾, followed by
Jacob Luebbert (Warsaw, MO/Warsaw) at 49-9¾ and
Owen Fraser (Kirksville, MO/Kirksville) in eighth with a mark of 46-9.
Luebbert would add a second place finish in the weight throw with a throw of 65-7, his second meet this season with a throw that cleared the 20-meter mark, while
Jake Anderson (O'Fallon, MO/Fort Zumwalt West) captured second in the pole vault with a clearance of 14-11. In the track events,
Lucas Rackers (Florissant, MO/St. Louis University HS) also had a second place finish for S&T in the mile with his time of 4:25.27.
Paulvin Horton (Raleigh, NC/Garner) had a third place showing in the high jump as he cleared 6-3¼ and also finished sixth in the long jump with a mark of 21-1¼. Fourth place finishes came from
Andrew Lofgren (Chesterfield, MO/Parkway West) in the mile in 4:27.36. S&T also got a fifth place finish from Swadley in the weight throw at 55-8 and from
Daniel Garrison (Liberty, MO/Liberty) in the mile in 4:29.76, while
Jorge Cantu (Cypress, TX/Bridgeland) took sixth in the 800-meters in 2:07.26.
Fraser was seventh in the weight throw with a mark of 50-6. Levi Frisbee finished eighth in the 800-meters with a time of 2:09.53.
Missouri S&T finished behind Emporia State and Central Missouri in the team standings, but did finish 27 points in front of Missouri Southern to take third.
The Miners will take part in the Principia Relays next Saturday in Elsah, Ill.
