ROLLA, Mo. – Following a split of its opening weekend of action, Missouri S&T's men's soccer team will return to the home pitch Saturday night for its final non-conference game before the start of Great Lakes Valley Conference play as it hosts Eastern New Mexico in a 7 p.m. contest.

The Miners opened the season Friday with a 2-1 win over Northeastern State at Allgood-Bailey Stadium, but were beaten Sunday on a goal in the 90th minute in a 2-1 loss to Rogers State.  They will face an Eastern New Mexico squad Saturday that lost a pair of 4-2 decisions in the opening weekend of the campaign.

S&T got second half goals from Shane Cairns (North Olmstead, OH/North Olmstead) and Pablo Gomez (Madrid, Spain/IES Neil Armstrong) in the opening night victory, then Sigurd Semlitsch (Oslo, Norway/Stabekk Videregaaende Skole) got the lone Miner tally Sunday in the ninth minute of action.  In goal, Davis Joseph (Andover, KS/Andover Central) recorded seven saves in Friday's game – the only NSU goal came on a penalty kick in the 89th minute – then added four more saves on Sunday and holds a 1.50 goals against average over two games.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT: The Greyhounds lost 4-2 decisions to Rogers State and Oklahoma Christian to open the campaign as they prepare to play their third road contest of the season Saturday.

Eastern New Mexico trailed 1-0 at halftime to Rogers State and tied the game in the 53rd minute on a goal by Ben Sauerlander, but allowed the go-ahead goal just over a minute later as part of a three-goal flurry.  On Saturday, ENMU fell behind 22 seconds into the game and allowed four goals in the first 12:24 before getting two into the net in the second half.

Four different players scored for the Greyhounds in the two contests; Sauerlander and Sander Tennessen also had assists.  The Greyhounds employed three goalkeepers over the weekend, with Jesper Slystad playing 90 minutes and making two saves.
