Vieira, Banasik Earn CSC Academic All-America Honors

ROLLA, Mo. — Missouri S&T men's soccer standouts Joao Vieira (Punta del Este, Uruguay/International College) and Mike Banasik (Loekkegade, Denmark/Hjoering Gymnasium) were recognized for their excellence on the field and in the classroom, earning College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America honors, as announced by the organization.

Vieira was named to the CSC First Team Academic All-America, while Banasik earned CSC Third Team Academic All-America recognition.

A junior midfielder, Vieira recorded a 4.0 cumulative GPA while majoring in economics, pairing elite academic achievement with a standout season on the pitch. He was also honored with D2CCA Second Team All-Midwest Region and First Team All-GLVC accolades following the 2025 season. Vieira led the Miners offensively, finishing with six goals, two assists, and 14 total points across 18 matches, pacing the team in both scoring and shot production.

Banasik, a junior forward, also posted a 4.0 cumulative GPA, majoring in business and management systems. On the field, he played a key role in the Miners' attack, totaling four goals, two assists, and 10 points on the season. Three of his four goals proved decisive, as Banasik accounted for three game-winning goals, consistently delivering in critical moments.

The CSC Academic All-America program recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate excellence both athletically and academically, highlighting Missouri S&T's continued commitment to success in the classroom and in competition.

Missouri S&T men's soccer continues to build a tradition of high achievement, with Vieira and Banasik exemplifying the standard of excellence within the Miners program.
