3/7/2022 4:05:00 PM

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – It was day two at the Las Vegas Desert Classic hosted by Missouri-St. Louis as the Missouri S&T golf team was back in action and looking to continue their strong play from the start of the event on Sunday. The Miners (299-311=610) ended the day where they started in 14th in a very deep and competitive field that includes 11 Top 25 programs.

Gustav Liljedahl (Uppsala, Sweden/Celsiusskolan) (78-77=155) was one of the leaders on the day for the Miners, birdieing the par-4 16th and par-5 17th along with the par-5 9th to go with seven pars to finish +5 for the round and it now T68 on the leaderboard.

Jeppe Thybo (Esbjerg, Denmark/Rybners Gymnasium) (80-77=157) helped lead the way for S&T on day two, recording a birdie on the par-5 17th and carding 10 pars in his round and is T76 through 36 holes.

Carl Miltun (Gilbert, AZ/Williams Field) (74-77=151) also dealt with some adversity in his round, but managed to record a pair of birdies on the par-3 6th and par-4 12th to go with nine holes at par to finish the round at +6 and sits T47 through two rounds.

Colin Stolze (St. Louis, MO/Chaminade College Preparatory) (70-79=149) ran into trouble early but rebounded with a birdie and an eagle on the par-5 17th to remain near the top of the board until he again ran into some difficulties on the front nine, making par or better on just four holes and is just outside the top 30 at T31.

Fatt Hoe Yong (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia/SMK Seri Bintang Utara) (77-80=157) was fairly steady through out the day but ran into a spot of trouble on the front nine on a four-hole stretch from the fifth to the eighth in which he shot five over par and joins Thybo at T76 overall.

The top five saw a little movement from day one, with UMSL (282-298=580) remaining atop the leaderboard, followed by St. Mary's (TX) (285-299=584), Oklahoma Christian (291-295=586), West Florida (285-302=587) and Florida Southern (293-295=588).

Final round action will commence Tuesday morning at 8 A.M. PT, with another shotgun start.
