ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Missouri S&T golf team was back in action at the Missouri Bluff Golf Course Tuesday for the third and final round of the Lindenwood Invitational. After posting a strong start to the event on Monday, the Miners (294-296-294=884) overtook the Lions' A team in the final round to collect their first title of the spring season and second title of the year.
Carl Miltun (Gilbert, AZ/Williams Field) (69-75-74=218) earned medalist honors in the event as he finished T3 overall.
Jeppe Thybo (Esbjerg, Denmark/Rybners Gymnasium) (79-72-71=222) posted his best round of the event Tuesday and carded a top 10 effort, finishing T8.
Gustav Liljedahl (Uppsala, Sweden/Celsiusskolan) (72-77-74=223) was inside the top 15 and finished one shot back of Thybo for the event.
Fatt Hoe Yong (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia/SMK Seri Bintang Utara) (74-78-75=227) bounced back in round three to record his best performance of the season, finishing T20.
Colin Stolze (St. Louis, MO/Chaminade College Preparatory) (80-72-79=231) rounded out the S&T contingent for the event, finishing out T35 overall.
Nihal Shah (London, England/Culford School) (82-76-79=237), S&T's lone individual competing at the event, closed out action T53 on the board.
Lindenwood's A Team (297-291-299=887) finished three shots back of S&T in second, and was followed in the top five by Indian Hill Community College (303-293-295=891), Iowa Western Community College (293-302-301=896) and Maryville (301-293-306=900). The other GLVC teams in the field included Drury, who finished sixth, Lindenwood's B team in 10th, William Jewell in 12th and Quincy in 14th.
Next up, the Miners will head to Arkansas next week for the Natural State Golf Classic hosted by Harding University at the Natural State Golf Classic at the Red Apple Inn & Country Club in Heber Springs.
