SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Missouri S&T's golf team ended up in a tie for third place at the Midwest Regional Tournament held at Panther Creek Country Club and had two of its players finish among the top 10 on an individual basis in the 54-hole event.

The Miners finished with a score of 870 in the event, the second-lowest by team in a 54-hole tournament since the program resumed play in 2017.

Freshman Cole Komyati (Fairhope, AL/Bayside Academy) shot a one-under-par 71 on Tuesday and finished the tournament at one-under as well as he finished with a score of 215 to put him in a tie for sixth place.  Meanwhile, Carl Miltun (Gilbert, AZ/Williams Field) finished at even par on the afternoon and in the tournament at 216 to finish in a tie for eighth.  Both players had scores over 54 holes that now rank among the top 10 in an event of that length since the program's resumption.

Along the way, Komyati recorded the Miners' fourth eagle of the tournament – tying for the most along with tournament champion McKendree – as he recorded a eagle on the par-five 15th hole.  He also had an eagle in Monday's second round on the seventh hole, while Miltun eagled the 10th hole in round one and Issac Chern Yi To eagled that same hole Monday in the second round.

To was the Miners' third finisher on Tuesday with a 73 as he ended up in a tie for 14th place with a 54-hole score of 219, while Gustav Liljedahl (Uppsala, Sweden/Celsiusskolan) had a 223 to end up in 30th place and Jeppe Thybo (Esbjerg, Denmark/Rybners Gymnasium) finished tied for 35th with a score of 226.  Nicolas Estrada, playing as an individual, shot a 77 Tuesday and finished with a overall mark of 236.

McKendree had an 11-under-par score of 277 Tuesday to vault to the top of the standings at six-under-par, while Missouri-St. Louis finished with a two-under mark of 862.  The Miners were tied with Maryville for the third spot in the standings with the 870 scores, both finishing eight shots in front of Drury.

The Miners' next competition will take place on Oct. 17 and 18 at the Mckendree Dual Gender Tournament at Far Oaks Golf Club in Collinsville, Ill.
