                     ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T's volleyball team take a break from its conference schedule this weekend as it takes part in the Midwest Region Crossover Friday and Saturday in Hammond, Ind.
The Miners will play twice on Friday as they will face Davenport from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference at 9 a.m., then play at 7 p.m. that night against Findlay from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.  S&T's third game on Saturday will be played against an opponent to be determined based on Friday's results; the time of that match will be either 11:30 a.m., or 2 p.m., depending on where S&T lands after the first day of action.
For those attending the tournament that will take place at the Hammond SportsPlex, tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for those 65 years or older for a single session.  For adults, a two-day pass can be purchased for $20.  Children ages 12 and under will be admitted free of charge.
Missouri S&T comes into the crossover at 10-6 overall and is currently tied for fifth in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with Indianapolis at 4-3 in league play.  The Miners dropped their only contest last week when they lost in straight sets to current GLVC leader Missouri-St. Louis on the road.
Madelyn Mason (Mount Horeb, WI/Mount Horeb) leads the Miners with 177 kills on the season; her average of 3.18 kills per set ranks 10
th in the GLVC.  
Jordan Burton (Olathe, KS/Olathe South) has 163 kills on the year after posting a team-high 12 at UMSL, while 
Abigail Widiker (Hammond, WI/Saint Croix Central) has recorded 144 kills.
Shelby Ply (Rolla, MO/Rolla), who is fourth on the team in kills with 139, is second in the conference in hitting percentage with a mark of .373.  Ply is also sixth in the conference in blocks with 1.02 per set as she has been in on 57 blocks this season.
The Miners also have two others among the conference leaders as 
Madison Offerman (Herscher, IL/Herscher) ranks second in blocks with 1.19 per set and a team-high 62 and 
Hannah Merjil (Bakersfield, CA/Garces Memorial) ranks ninth in assists with 6.11 per set (343 total).  
Lexi Netherlain (Sullivan, IN/Sullivan) leads the Miners with 18 service aces and 212 digs on the year.
 
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS:  Davenport is 16-4 on the season and resides in second place in the GLIAC at 9-2.  The Panthers have won their last eight matches, including a win over a Ferris State team that beat S&T earlier in the season and have won five of those eight matches in straight sets.
Hayley Kreiger, who has won the last three GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week awards, is third in the nation with 4.70 kills per set and has a NCAA Division II-leading total of 343 on the season; she also has a .273 hitting percentage to lead the Panthers.
Findlay brings a 13-8 record into the event, but leads the G-MAC North Division with a 10-1 record. The Oilers opened their season with five straight losses, but have gone 13-3 since and have won 11 of their last 12 matches.
Journey Blevins ranks fourth in the nation with 320 kills on the season and her 4.51 per set ranks seventh nationally, while the Oilers have two players hitting better than .300 in Alana Pohlman at .334 and Emma Meyer at .303.  White is also fifth in NCAA Division II with 804 assists on the season.
