9/28/2021 2:49:00 PM

MONKEY ISLAND, Okla. – The Missouri S&T golf team was back in action Tuesday morning for the final round of the Missouri Southern Invitational at the Shangri-La Country Club. The Miners used several strong performances to climb the leaderboard from day one and finish 11th in a very deep field of tough competition.

Gustav Liljedahl (Uppsala, Sweden/Celsiusskolan) (74-72-76=222) started strong on the back nine, recording a trio of birdies but hit a rough patch on the front nine, bogeying four of five holes but still managed to card a top-30 effort for the event, placing T26.

Jeppe Thybo (Esbjerg, Denmark/Rybners Gymnasium) (76-79-72=227) was the low man for S&T in round three, recording a quartet of birdies along with 10 holes at par to finish T49.

Colin Stolze (St. Louis, MO/Chaminade College Preparatory) (76-79-73=228) led the Miners with five birdies over the final 18 holes of competition to go with eight holes at even par to finish T57.

Carl Miltun (Gilbert, AZ/Williams Field) (78-75-77=230) finished the final round with three birdies to his credit and carded nine pars to finish T64.

Blake Heimburger (Wentzville, MO/Holt) (84-77-73=234) rebounded to post the best round of his young S&T career, recording a trio of birdies while carding 11 holes of par golf to close out his event in T78

Oklahoma Christian (292-291-281=864) and Hutchinson Community College (281-287-296=864) finished tied for the top spot on the podium, while Henderson state (295-294-289=878) and Rogers State (287-296-295=878) tied for third, with Southern Arkansas (290-293-297=880) rounding out the top five. Missouri-St. Louis (296-298-297=891), the only other GLVC team in the field, finished seventh.
