ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T's Paal Benum (Trondheim, Norway/Byaasen Videregaadende) has been selected to the Academic All-District men's soccer team for the 2020-21 season as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Benum, who just completed his senior season at Missouri S&T in the spring and who graduated from the university last month, was named to the all-district team for the second consecutive season.  He earned his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and is a three-time selection to the Great Lakes Valley Conference's All-Academic team (the 2020-21 team will be announced later this month).

During his playing career, Benum scored six goals for the Miners – including a pair of game-winning goals in overtime during his junior year – and added two assists for 14 points.  He scored four times in the 2019 season and twice with the two assists during the 2021 spring campaign.

The Academic All-America team will be announced on July 6.
