ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T junior Jason Jorgensen (Florence, Italy/Liceo Scientifico Santa Maria), who tied for the team lead in goals during the 2021 spring season, was named to the Great Lakes Valley Conference's all-conference team on Thursday.

Jorgensen shared the team in lead in goals with Dario Rossell (Madrid, Spain/IES Lazaro Cardenas) with four tallies during the spring campaign, which included a game-winning goal in overtime in S&T's 1-0 victory over Drury.  Jorgensen also scored in the S&T contests against Maryville, Missouri-St. Louis and Lewis during the season.

Jorgensen is the first Miner to be selected to the All-GLVC team since Felipe Andrade was chosen to the first team following the 2017 season.

In addition to Jorgensen's selection to the All-GLVC squad, sophomore defender Andrew Heider (Hazelwood, MO/Hazelwood West) was named as S&T's nominee for the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award.  Heider started in all 14 games along the back line for the Miners this season.

Regular season champion Indianapolis took three of the four major awards announced by the GLVC Thursday, including offensive player of the year Alex Steinwascher, defensive player of the year Makel Rasheed and coach of the year John Higgins.  Drury's Jayd Hamadoua was chosen as the GLVC's freshman of the year.
