FULTON, MO- The Miners collected a first-place team win over the past two days at the William Woods Spring Invitational while five individuals finished in the top-15.
S&T recorded a season low 307 round two score that would solidify them first place by more than 30 strokes. Host school William Woods came in second place with a 647 team score while Columbia College snagged third place.
The Miners controlled the top-five in individual play;
Lauren Allen (Sacramento, Calif./St. Francis Catholic) led the team with a 153 final score and finishing in third place while
Emilie Nguyen (Orange, Calif./Villa Park),
Taylor Ornelas (Whittier, Calif./La Serna), and
Anna Reisinger (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) all finished in a three-way tie for fourth place with final scores of 156.
Karson Kimsey (Sautee Nacoochee, Ga./White County) was the final S&T player to make it into the top-15. She finished the tournament with a 171 final score and brought home a 15
th place finish.
Sami Swinfard (Jefferson City, Mo./Jefferson City) was the final Miner to compete this weekend. Competing as an individual, Swinfard finished in a tie for 21
st place after a 177 finish.
