DESTIN, FLA.- The Miner women's golf team finished out the last round of the Emerald Coast Classic today and secured 10
th place with their 1019 final score.
After shaving nine strokes off their score from round one to round two, the Miners struggled in the final round, coming up with a 350 team score and finished 66 over par for the day.
Taylor Ornelas (Whittier, Calif./La Serna) was the top finisher for S&T over the three day Classic; she added in an 83 round three score to give her a 247 final and a 32
nd place finish in the individual standings.
Karson Kimsey (Sautee Nacoochee, Ga./White County) also found herself in the top-40 finishers with her 253 final score.
Emilie Nguyen (Orange, Calif./Villa Park),
Riley McFarlane (McKinney, Texas/McKinney North), and
Anna Reisinger (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) rounded out the remaining Miner competitors with scores of 257, 262, and 271, respectively.
Host school, Missouri-St. Louis claimed the top team and individual slots from the Classic; the Tritons finished the weekend with a 909 team score while Emma Thorngren claimed 1
st place in the individual race with her 217 finish at +4 over par.
Henderson State, Columbus State, Central Missouri, and Dixie State rounded out the remaining top-five schools for the weekend.
