ROLLA, MO- The Miners looked to keep their postseason playoff hopes alive today in a GLVC doubleheader against the Hawks of Quincy University. While they were able to take game one by a final score of 8-4, they were not able to hold off Quincy in game two and faced a 6-3 loss.
GAME ONE: MISSOURI S&T: 8, QUINCY: 4

Jackson would make her way around the bases and end up scoring on a wild pitch from Quincy's Sara Demuth to tie the game at 2-2.
QU regained their lead in the top of the 4
th after Megan Sharpshair and Jessica Poore both hit RBI singles to get up 4-2.

After Hamann singled to left field,
Jacey Allen (Roanoke, TX/Byron Nelson) took a 1-2 pitch and turned it into a two-run bomb over the left field fence.
S&T's next four runs for the inning were all unearned as the Hawks committed two errors that ended up begin costly; after
Marcy McCalla (Staunton, IL/Staunton) scored on a misplayed grounder by QU's second baseman,
Courtney Jackson (Parkville, MO/Park Hill South) would place a ball just behind the shortstop that would send
Abby Klein (Kansas City, MO/Staley) and
Lauren King (O'Fallon, MO/Fort Zumwalt North) across home plate. Jackson would be the final run to score when
Olivia Young (Millstadt, IL/Belleville Township) reached on a dropped fly ball by the Hawk's right fielder to extend their lead to 8-4.
The Miners were able to hold their lead and keep the Hawks at bay as they secured the 8-4 win.

GAME TWO: MISSOURI S&T: 3, QUINCY: 6
