ROLLA, Mo. – Following its thrilling overtime win Sunday over defending Great Lakes Valley Conference regular season champion Rockhurst, Missouri S&T's men's soccer team will take part in its final split weekend of the 2018 season that begins with a home game Friday against Missouri-St. Louis.
The Miners and Tritons will meet up at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the S&T Soccer Field, before S&T heads to Kirksville, Mo., Sunday for a 2:30 p.m. matchup against Truman State.
Missouri S&T comes into the weekend with wins in two of its last three outings, including the 3-2 win Sunday when
Tyler Sivadon (Spring, TX/Concordia Lutheran) scored 3:29 into overtime to give the Miners (2-7, 2-4 GLVC) the victory over Rockhurst. Sivadon is one of four Miners with at least two goals on the season, a group led by
Austin Parks (Rolla, MO/Rolla) with five.
Parks has a team-high 10 points, while
Unnar Ulfarsson (Gardabaer, Iceland/Fjolnir Reykjavik) – who recorded assists on both of S&T's goals in Friday's overtime setback to William Jewell – has two goals and four assists for eight points. Ulfarsson ranks in a tie for third in the GLVC with his four assists and is currently tied for second on the S&T career list with 19 assists, two behind Mike Balassi's record of 21.

Hunter Short (Rolla, MO/Rolla), who also scored in Sunday's victory.
Nick Posey (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville), who has started in every game in goal, has 39 saves for the Miners.
Missouri-St. Louis enters the weekend with an overall record of 4-5 and 3-3 in the GLVC after splitting their contests last weekend. The Tritons shut out Truman State 1-0 before dropping a 2-1 decision Sunday to Lewis as the Flyers scored with just over seven minutes remaining to break a 1-1 tie.
Magnus Anderson, who had the Triton goal on Sunday, leads UMSL with four goals and two assists for 10 points, while Oscar Gordillo and Donald Link have two goals apiece. Nedin Kudic had played the bulk of the minutes in goal for the Tritons and has a 0.81 goals against average.
Truman State opened the 2018 season with either a win or tie in its first five contests, but has dropped four straight since and has been outscored 12-0 over those four games. After losing to UMSL on Friday, Maryville handed the Bulldogs a 4-0 loss Sunday to drop Truman to 2-4-3 and 0-4-2 in the GLVC.
The Bulldogs scored 12 goals in their first four games of the year, four of them coming from Matt Yankowitz and two from Trevor Kaufmann. Jacob Gunn has a 1.77 goals against average and 37 saves in nine games.
